A small bowl turned from olive wood, about 4 inches across and 2 inches tall. Dense grain, a smooth finish and the natural resistance to stains and odors that makes olive wood a kitchen staple around the Mediterranean.
Fill it with almonds, pistachios or olives for the aperitivo hour, or stand a wine bottle in it at the table. Hand wash, dry at once and rub with a little olive oil now and then. More in For the Table.
