Join artists Alisa Barry and Shanequa Gay for an intimate round table conversation exploring the artist books and creative influences that shape and inspire our artistic practices. Whether you're cultivating art as a daily ritual or living life through a lens of creativity, your presence and perspective are welcome at the table. Bring a favorite book—about art or by an artist—that has moved or motivated you. Together, we’ll share in a circle, exchanging stories, inspirations, and the art of living a creative life. The invitation is open to everyone.

Alisa Barry is an artist, author, and founder of Bella Cucina, an award-winning brand devoted to the of living through food and design. With an appreciation for beauty and artful aesthetics, Alisa brings the same poetic sensibility to her Japanese ink paintings as she does to her culinary creations. Her work is rooted in ritual, intuition, and the power of presence, inviting others to live a more beautiful, intentional life.
Shanequa Gay is a celebrated interdisciplinary artist whose work weaves storytelling, spirituality, and the sacred feminine into powerful visual narratives. Through painting, installation, and performance, she examines themes of Southern identity, Black girlhood, and ancestral memory. Shanequa’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, and she continues to use art as a form of activism and transformation, connecting communities through beauty, history, and healing.

Paid parking is available on the street or in the parking decks. We recommend the North Deck, with entrances located on both Bolling Way NE or N Fulton Dr. Enter the lower deck, then take the stairs up to Plaza Level, go right, and Bella Cucina is located right past Taverna
