Returning to the RE/SET - Bella Cucina

Returning to the RE/SET

"To truly love we must learn to mix various ingredients - care, affection, recognition, respect, commitment, and trust."

- Bell Hooks

February arrives as a threshold. The momentum of the new year has softened into something steadier. The rituals we remembered in January, the ones that make life beautiful, have either taken root or are asking for a recalibration, not what's expected, but what quietly calls for more of our attention. The days are still short, but there's light now at the edges—a softening, an invitation to slow down, to take a deep breath and pause.

This is the month we return to the RE/SET.

Not the kind of reset that demands we become someone new. But the more gentle kind. The kind that asks: "What rituals do I need to come back to? How can I bring more nourishment and nurturing into my life  — with others, with food, with myself? "

February opens the door to love. And in that spirit, as Valentine's Day arrives, we find ourselves reflecting on what it means to truly love—in the way Bell Hooks so beautifully described it: love as a recipe, a mixing of ingredients. Care. Affection. Recognition. Respect. Commitment. Trust.

Not an overly sentimental romantic kind of love, though that is good too. But the kind of love that goes beyond seasons, that endures whatever weather may come, that leads with compassion, that stands in truth, that leads with beauty. This is the love that asks you to show up, not just for someone else, but for yourself. The love that lives in the rituals that steady you. The meals that nourish you. The care that tends to you.

What does it mean to reset?

Think of it like a dish you love to cook and eat, one that feels like comfort and care.  A reset is the act of returning to the original recipe as a ritual. Measuring with intention again. Letting things take the time they need. Enjoying the process and savoring every stop along the way.

At Bella Cucina, we believe a considered lifestyle starts with food as the foundation for well-being—and from there, the way we live our lives. The rituals we keep. The objects we surround ourselves with. The way we care for our bodies. The environments we create. The information we choose to consume.

The reset doesn't happen all at once. It's a daily practice that happens in the details.

It's the Olive Oil & Beeswax cream you smooth onto your hands before bed or when we wake up and start the day — made with just two ingredients.  Simple. Soohting. Nourishing. A small act of care repeated daily.

It's the candle that burns in our Buckhead shop every day, the one people constantly ask about.  Paired with fresh flowers, the scent is intoxicating. The flicker, the fragrance, the stillness, this is what loving well looks like when you tend to your home.

It's the hand-woven scarf you wrap around yourself on a cold morning—hand-dyed wool spun in sunset colors.  It's the blanket sized for two, pulled up closely for the comfort of slow mornings and staying in together.

It's the chocolate that satiates your sweet tooth or the adaptogen-infused kind that helps you naturally fall asleep—functional meets indulgent—   because you want to feel as good as it tastes.

These are the objects of affection we've gathered for February.  Lovely treasures to give and receive. Tools of transformation for a gentle reset. Objects of Affection that help us remember that care is an intentional practice, and that love—the real, enduring kind—is the repetition small daily devotions, especially when it comes to yourself.

Speaking of resets, we have one of our own to share.

After much anticipation, Bella Cucina has moved to our new home at 288 Buckhead Avenue in Buckhead Village. If you visited us in our previous space, you'll remember the intimacy of those rooms, the way everything felt close and curated. We loved it as much as you did!

But this move feels like a return to something, too. A larger space, yes, but also a fuller expression of what Bella Cucina has always wanted to be: a place of gathering, of learning, of slowing down together. There's room now for more workshops, more tastings, more of the community events that make us feel most ourselves.

We've been settling in, styling the space, stocking shelves. And,  we can't wait to welcome you.  Come see us. Let us show you around our new beginning. Let us offer you something good to eat.

Our expanded space allows for more and bigger classes and workshops to offer. We've just added more classes to our calendar, including a very special Valentine's Day Tea & Cookies experience,  a Make your Own Pizza Class, and our most popular class where you learn how to Make Pasta by Hand from scratch.  We hope you'll join us at the table in our new Store X studio this month.

Poached Pears with Preserved Lemon Cream

If love is a recipe, then this dessert is the one you'll want to have on the menu.

Red raspberries and tender poached pears. A swirl of freshly whipped cream brightened with Preserved Lemon Cream. It's Valentine's Day on a plate.  This is the kind of love we love: simple ingredients, made with care, enjoyed with abandon.

February will pass, as all months do. The light will lengthen. The world will speed up again. But the reset is always available to you. It lives in the rituals you choose. In the table you set. The time you take to enjoy a simple meal.

Come back to yourself this month. We'll save you a seat at the table. With love and intention,

x Team Bella Cucina
