Sardines from Anzio, the fishing town south of Rome where Pollastrini has been canning since 1889. Caught in the Mediterranean, cleaned by hand and packed the same week, in three ways: spicy in olive oil, plain in sunflower oil, or in tomato sauce with hot pepper. The tin that turns a piece of bread into dinner.
