
Focaccia Flatbread with Walnut Pesto, Pears, & Gorgonzola
Nothing fills a home like the scent of freshly baked focaccia bread. This flatbread is perfect as an appetizer or as the main event for lunch with a side salad. The combination of walnuts with the sweetness of the fruit and honey are a winning combination.
SHOPPING LIST:
1 mix Bella Cucina Focaccia Dough Bread ,
1 Tablespoon chopped fresh rosemary
1 - 6ounce jar Bella Cucina Walnut Sage Pesto
1/2 cup Bella Cucina Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
2 ripe pears, cored and thinly sliced
8 ounces gorgonzola cheese
1/4 cup Bella Cucina Chestnut Honey
PREPARATION: Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Prepare the focaccia bread according to direction, adding the chopped rosemary to the mix just before mixing. Mix the pesto with the olive oil until well blended. After the dough has proofed, spread evenly over the dough with the walnut pesto mixture. Top with the pear slices. Cook for 20-25 minutes, then top with the gorgonzola cheese. Continue to bake for another 20-25 minutes, or until focaccia is cooked through. Drizzle with the honey.
