SUNDAY SLOWDOWN | This is important!

SUNDAY SLOWDOWN | This is important!

"And everyday,  the world will drag you by the hand, yelling, “This is important! You need to worry about this! And this! Each day, it's up to you to yank your hand back, put it on your heart and say, No. This is what is important.”

Every morning arrives with an open, empty hand, offering us an opportunity to live the day ahead.

How we begin our day often determines how the day unfolds.Do we set an intention, mindfully charting the course of the day, or do we get sideswiped by the urgencies that call to us, living hour to hour as a collection of reactions?

It's easy to do. To live each day carelessly, as if we have all the days in the world.

Sundays, of all days, is the day to slowdown, to thoughtfully reclaim our attention. It's a deliberate parenthesis of time where we can return to ourselves before the week begins again. To reassess our place in the world. To re/set our nervous system.  To listen our heart.

To ask ourselves:

What deserves my attention?

What nourishes me?

What have I mistaken for urgency?

What would happen if I trusted that not everything requires my attention or energy?

Slowing down is not about retreating from life.It is simply placing one hand over your heart and choosing, with intention, what comes next. This week, could you intentionally choose one thing that feels essential and give it your full presence?

Feel what that feels like. See and sense how time seems to slow down a bit more and softens at the edges, how your attention begins to discern the difference between urgent and essential.  Experience the way your day feels more fulfilling, no longer dependent on the demands of the day, but structured, and enjoyed, with purpose, meaning and intention.

How we choose to live our days, to fill them, is, in the end, up to us.

Choose wisely.
