SUNDAY SLOWDOWN | The Small Everyday Ways

SUNDAY SLOWDOWN | The Small Everyday Ways

“Beware of looking for goals: look for a way of life. Decide how you want to live and then see what you can do to make a living within that way of life.”

 -  Hunter S. Thompson

Goals are good to have. They give us a north star, whether it's the small daily goals that get us through the day, or on the long horizon goals that get us to the end of our lives. But when goals become the sole source of your motivation, you may end up losing the soul source, which is not just what you do to get to where you want to go. It's how and why you live the life you choose.

As hunter S.Thompson says, “Beware of looking for goals: look for a way of life.”

With one decision, you can change your entire life. But, do you have the courage? A decision doesn't have to be dramatic. It can be small enough to feel doable, but brave enough to matter.  You don't have to make any changes at all. You can simply embrace and appreciate the life you have in a new and thoughtful way. One intentional choice at time. Whether or not something needs to change, the real question is, are you chasing a way of life or are you actually living the way you want it to be? Sure, there are times when we don't feel good about things. What I am talking about is cadence, a flow to your daily routines. Does your life feel easeful, even when it is hard? Is it filled with beauty in some way, everyday? Would you choose this way of life if you knew that you had a choice? You do. It begins with your perspective and ends with the small, but meaningful choices you make every day.

On this Sunday Slowdown, I invite you to take a pause and ask yourself, "How do I want to move through the world? How do I want to live my life?"

If you're not living that way, decide what you want that to be, and begin to live it in the small, everyday ways.
