As the days unfold, I find myself holding on to a slower rhythm, a more mindful pace that defies what is of expected of us, of ourselves, as we step into a new year. The warmth of candle lit flames are my priority these days. And, I in the midst of slowing down, I am contemplating the ways that I will step out of my comfort zone this year. To be deliberately daring, yet thoughtful and discerning, with both gentle courage and spacious faith.
Life asks a lot of us. We forget that we can ask as well. But more importantly, we can listen. We can slow down and still stay moving. We can appreciate the chaos of creativity without getting lost in the storm. We can proceed boldly without being loud.
I keep forgetting that this life has a finite timeline, one that we do not own. Let's remind each other not to fritter away these days, to be in touch with and act upon our dreams. When we do, the world honors us with riches beyond what we can imagine, transcending our idea of time and space.
And, let's also not forgot what truly matters. Peace is our birthright. Love is our duty. Compassion is the gift we give others. Kindness is the measure of our humanity. Dance is the universal language of song.
Whatever your manifesto for living is, proceed and be bold.
