Q&A Monday: Foster Fine Foods

Foster Fine Foods LLC is an Atlanta company dedicated to collecting and sharing unique, authentic and delicious gourmet foods from around the world. We here at Bella Cucina share their philosophy, “Life is too short to eat mediocre food” and we carry their decadent and delectable olive oils, jams and chutneys from Chile in our Atlanta retail store.

Foster Fine Foods founder Dawn loves to explore the globe, discovering new cultures and sampling local foods, finding inspiration and new goods to bring into her own kitchen and share with you. Her zeal and passion for finding and sharing good quality food from around the globe is infectious and we’re excited to share some of Dawn’s insight and inspiration today.

1. What is your most indispensable kitchen utensil?
A chef’s knife!

2. What is your fondest memory of a meal?
I have had a passion for food since a very young age. I have such vivid childhood memories of food like the chocolate with coconut frosting bunny cake my mom got me for my 7th birthday (my birthday is around Easter), Saturday night steak dinners with my family with Shaft playing in the background, Thanksgiving meals with my large extended family, my first taste of escargot in my early teens. I still have my childhood diary and I would write what we had for dinner each night. Food was obviously very important to me and still is!

3. Where do you go to feel inspired?
Traveling to new places is always very inspirational for me.

4. What one piece of advice would you offer to an aspiring small-business owner?
Do what you love.

5. Fill in the blank: When I am in my kitchen (or sitting down to a good meal), I feel _______.
Happy!
